Overview of SearchLogix Group Job Descriptions

These free, sample job descriptions provided on our website are “examples” of jobs for some of the various positions we have been engaged to search on for our client companies. These job descriptions are not intended to meet all legal or EEO (Equal Opportunity Employment) guidelines.

Job descriptions provide an opportunity to clearly communicate your company direction and where the employee fits inside of the big picture.

Whether you're recruiting new employees or posting jobs for internal applicants, job descriptions tell the candidate exactly what you want in your selected person.

It is an essential tool for growing your business. Job descriptions and expectations provide the foundation for hiring and retaining good employees by outlining the necessary skills, duties, responsibilities, training, and education that are required for each position. They are extremely useful when filling an open position and can be a valuable tool for new employee orientations, training, performance evaluations, promotion and accountability purposes.

Although job descriptions are not mandated by federal or state law, they may assist employers when determining the essential tasks of each position, which is a critical step in complying with the Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA).* Essential job functions are those functions any candidate or employee must be able to complete in order to qualify for the position.

For effectiveness, you must regularly look at and use job descriptions as part of your day-to-day work. Job descriptions that sit unused in a drawer, or worst, filed in the HR office, are a waste of time; they must be integral in your hiring process.
